All interested York College students are invited to join
"The largest organization on campus."

It is official, we now have an all time record of more than 200 active members.

With 18 active departments and an eclectic, fun-loving communications group of students, there is certainly something enjoyable for you to do at WVYC.

New members can be on the air almost immediately or may select one of the many off-air support departments.

All York College students are encouraged to join us at our next staff meeting of the Spring 2012 semester, at 5pm on Wednesday, February 1st, in Campbell Hall Room 103. (Please note room change)

Please bring a friend along with you to the meeting.

All Radio Practicum students are required to attend this meeting.

These pages are the text for the Radio Practicum class. All members are responsible for reading these pages, especially the student resource page and links. A special thank you and congratulations to all WVYC students recognized for outstanding service last semester. Your dedication and hard work is appreciated.

The WVYC staff returned from the 2011 IBS National Convention in NYC with six prestigious  awards.  We received a trophy for "The Station With the Most Innovative Programming,"  the Sports Department was a finalist for the "Best Sports Talk Program," and "Mid Afternoon Metal" was a finalist for "Best Specialty Music Show."  Tom Policastro's show "Fanfare For the Common Man," was a finalist for "Best Specialty Show," the Web/IT department was a finalist for the "Best Website Award," and we were one of only three stations in the United States to receive the "Platinum Microphone Award", for attaining the highest level of broadcasting excellence among all college and university stations in the country.  Out of more than 1000 member stations, we are obviously very happy with this national recognition for our station operations.
